“Cable has been under-used recently, apart from [Fabian] Nicieza's excellent Cable & Deadpool series, and it seemed to make sense to put the spotlight on him again. Also, I wanted the team to have a powerful telepath, and with Psylocke’s departure I was casting around for someone to fill that role.
