First, he started out at his "uber" levels (a legacy from other runs with the character), and they burned out. As a result, he lost control of the technoorganic virus, and had to have that replaced, which affected his powers (as I recall). Then he was "killed" and "reborn" and regained his powers, but lost them again... and now he's got them back- sort of- in a way. I'm not sure how much of this (if any) is editorially driven, and how much is Fabian's idea, but it is a real rollercoaster, and I'm hoping it will finally reach a status quo with his most recent "upgrades" in the latest issue.

Let me preface this message by saying that I love C/DP, and have been a loyal reader since issue #1, and will continue on through #1000 (as long as Fabian keeps up the good work). Fabian has even gotten me to like Cable, a character I've never had any particular feelings... okay, other than dislike... for. (I started reading it because of Deadpool).
