Posted by Scarlettspiderg on 2/11/2006, 9:27 am, in reply to "CDP #25 Thoughts and Reactions *SPOILERS*" Cable explaining to Cap that he think in terms of centuries (rather than today/tomorrow) was a nice eye opener to Cables way of thinking - also liked that Captain America gave the reader a view of Providence. Deadpool's appearance was short, but was also sweet (Aunt May = Bea!!! And Fabian did a great tie-in to the New T-Bolts! Can't wait for issue 26, btw I got a letter published Gary --Previous Message-- Link: Scarlettspiderg

Another excellent issue. ![]()
: ***WARNING!!! This post contains SPOILERS for
: Cable & Deadpool #25!!! If you do not
: wish to be spoiled, please do not read any
: further!!! You have been warned!!!
:
: Well, Fabian...I originally started picking
: this book up *only* for the BAD Girls guest
: appearances. The BAD Girls have been gone
: for two issues...and I'm still here.
: Congratulations, it seems you've hooked
: another one! *L*
:
: I will miss Pat Zircher's art--its been
: great seeing him and Fabian working together
: on a project again--but so far I'm really
: happy with Lan Medina's work on the book!
: And I think he lucked out to have this issue
: as his debut. Past issues of this book have
: had plenty of guest stars, some of whom are
: relatively obscure, with a lot of action
: going on. But this issue is more or less
: just two characters for the bulk of the
: story--so it may have been a little easier
: to jump in on.
:
: I really enjoyed the little Fixer cameo--I
: hope we get to see Norbert show up in this
: book again for a real guest appearance at
: some point, since his last guest stint was
: so much fun.
:
: I thought it was great to see Providence
: through Cap's eyes. We've been hearing a
: lot about Providence over the last little
: while, but getting this tour (especially
: from Cap's perspective) really sells the
: idea and makes it real.
:
: Who was Irene's contact in Washington
: leaking info on the CSA's activities? Is
: this someone we're supposed to know? Or
: just some lower-level CSA member who works
: with Irene?
:
: Deadpool's brief moment with Aunt May was
: great!
:
: I enjoyed the twist of Cable having regained
: his lost powers through technological
: substitutes--I thought that was a really
: clever way of bringing Cable back to his
: powerful self without simply waving the
: magic wand to restore the old status quo.
:
: I really enjoyed the Cap/Cable interactions.
: I read the interview a few days ago where
: Fabian suspected people would think that
: Cable was coming across as very arrogant,
: but I didn't feel that at all. I thought he
: was just being very open and direct, while
: still respectful, and it explained Cable's
: character to me in a way I had never seen
: before. I have never read a lot of Cable
: before this--basically, just when he has
: guest starred in books I collect, or when
: X-Force had one of its occassional
: crossovers with New Warriors--so he is not a
: character I know or understand very well.
: But this issue really gave me a much better
: understanding of him and made me like him
: more.
:
: I was pleasantly surprised by the NTB plot
: point of the CSA spy probes being brought up
: here, and Cable offering to disable them for
: Cap. What will this mean for the CSA and
: their secret plan? I hope this gets further
: addressed in upcoming issues of either CDP
: or NTB (and as others have observed, it
: could be a useful plot point in a 'Civil
: War' tie-in issue).
:
: Anyway, great issue! I look forward to
: seeing what happens next (and I'm still
: eagerly awaiting the appearance of Citizen V
: and the V-Battlion/Invaders!)
