Ryan Reynolds Talks The Flash & Deadpool

While doing the roundtables in NYC for his upcoming role Hannibal King in Blade: Trinity, Ryan Reynolds spoke briefly about the chance of him playing the role of The Flash and why he wont be doing Deadpool. Below is what Ryan had to say:.
David Goyer mentioned that he is meeting with DC Comics next week and one of the properties he likes is THE FLASH and your name is rumored in connection, how official is that are you and David just bullshitting?
Ryan: Yeah, that’s just me and David talking at this point there’s nothing actually or official at all.
Do you read The Flash?
Ryan: I know of The Flash, I’m not a faithful reader but I’ve noticed that there’s internet campaigns in such to have me play him, I don’t know why that is. So I would love to find out, there’s clearly something similar about Wally West and myself. I have comic books of The Flash but I don’t know the full ideology of the character. I know a little bit of the Barry Allen stuff and a little bit about Wally West.
Do you read any comic books now?
Ryan: A little bit, I read Deadpool.
You’ve been connected to that character as well.
Ryan: Yeah
Is that official?
Ryan: No, I think it’s too hard to make you know? The guy is scared head to toe. It’s just a difficult one to bring to the big screen. There is a stronger mythology about the character as well, so it’s a little bit more abstract so I think they’ve all had trouble bringing it…David (Goyer) has been approached as well. I had a meeting with Avi Arad about it and he really wanted me to play Deadpool. But Deadpool is so similar to Hannibal King, he’s the merc with the mouth, it’s essentially the same character so there’s no point.
