Maybe he's going to have a place with the new Avengers. I can just see him heckling Luke Cage and Wolverine during a firefight...... --Previous Message--

I agree with jsf, Deadpool is the one of the best if not THE best piece of writing Marvel has ever come up. I can't see why they can't give him his own book, but I could also see him effectively being part of a team and still being able to keep his full character. The "wild card" concept in a team book would pretty much be his doing.
: Marvel would be foolish not to cash in on the
: current popularity of the character.
: Deadpool's been basically carrying the title
: the past 4 months or so, and sales see as
: solid as ever. They really need to give him
: a new ongoing, with the supporting cast
: that's arisen around him, and let Fabe
: continue to work his magic.
:
: This has been a great book ... I've been
: re-reading the older issues ... and it's
: really impressive to see the character
: development that actually took place over
: the past 40 or so issues. THIS is why I
: read comics.
:
: Honestly, this has been one of the more
: thoughtful books on the market the past
: couple of years, and Marvel would be
: dropping the ball to simply shelve it all
: because they want to "Disasemble"
: the X-Men with this Messiah Complex thing.
