No wonder I don't read Cable.
It's all too complicated.
You're probably right in that it will be revealed at the worst possible time for Bishop, that he was wrong.
But by then Messiah CompleX will be a long-gone memory, so who cares?
I'll be looking forward to the Cable series that doesn't have the baby-tag-along.

: I have a question. Does Bishop know for a fact
: that this baby mutant is the mutant who
: causes him as a kid to be put in a
: concentration camp. The people did say a
: mutant caused it but didn't use the term she
: caused it so how does he know the mutant was
: a girl. Given the fact that over in X-factor
: Syrin is pregnat with maddox's kid and given
: what Mr. Tripp told him that X-factor was
: going to repower mutants and that was going
: to cause chaos. I wonder if syrin's baby
: will be a mutant and be the mutant that
: causes bishops future. I think Bishop went
: after the wrong kid. The thing I want
: revealed is what cable knows about the kid
: and what the kids future is. Given the kid
: and cable's time traveling I wonder if when
: she gets older she will take the Summers
: name and her and cable are the Summers who
: lead the summers rebellion and free the
: mutants from being in a camp. so in effect
: bishop is trying to kill the wrong kid and
: in sense trying to kill the people who end
: up being the ones to free mutants in the
: long run.
