These are very pretty horses. Do you have any idea what their pedigree might be?

: I am in Mississippi and am looking for help
: finding homes for some Arabians. According
: to the owners these horses are 1/2 Egyptian.
: A local couple hired me almost 6 months ago
: to “gentle” 12 wild Arabians they own and to
: try to sell them. Our deadline for finding
: homes for these wonderful horses is January
: 1st, 2005. If there is some interest in
: these horses I might be able to get an
: extension. The owners had not kept up with
: registering the horses but we are working to
: establish parentage to register them as PB
: Arabians and half Arabians. They are all PB
: Arabians but their sire’s DNA was never
: filed (only his bloodtype was filed) before
: he died, so some of them cannot be
: registered as PB. I have only been able to
: find homes for two of these Arabians so far.
: The owners may ultimately keep four,
: leaving six to place: three grays (2003
: filly, 2003 gelding, and 2002 gelding), and
: three bays (2001 gelding, a 1999 mare, and
: a 1998 mare).
:
: When I started working with these horses,
: they had been left virtually wild in a 90
: acre pasture. I was given 6 months to do
: what I could to sell and tame the horses at
: least to take a halter and lead. They can
: now be caught and lead (only one is a little
: bit difficult), stand tied, and they have
: been brushed some. They are up to date on
: vaccinations, are on a good worming
: schedule, and have been seen by the farrier.
:
: The owners are past retirement age, but the
: husband has continued working. At this
: stage in life the owners are needing to
: divest themselves of animals requiring so
: much physical care. They are considering
: selling these horses at auction if they do
: not find other buyers, but this could result
: in the horses being sent to slaughter.
: Arabians are not popular in our state, so,
: there is not a big market for these horses.
: I tried to track down the last horse they
: sold. He was sold at the same auction where
: these horses would be sold. I discovered
: that a livestock company bought him.
:
: If you or someone else you know might be
: interested in buying one of these horse, I
: would be most grateful to hear from you. If
: there is a non-profit rescue that would be
: willing to take these horses I could help to
: work out an arrangement between you and the
: owners. The owners would prefer for these
: horse to go to good homes instead of ending
: up at slaughter but feel that they must sell
: them as soon as possible. I have grown very
: fond of these animals and have been
: impressed with their intelligence, beauty,
: and gentle natures. I hate to think that
: there is a possibility of these horses
: having their lives cut short. If you go to
: http://share.shutterfly.com/osi.jsp?i=EegtWbZy5aMKA
: you can see pictures of these Arabians.

: Elmwood Stables, 1553 Highway 80 W., Morton,
: MS 39117.
:
: Thank you very much for any help you may be
: able to provide.
:
: Sincerely,
: Anne M. Strohm
