Years ago (about 1980) he reffed an international at Lansdowne, after the game we always went to the back of Lansdowne for autographs, there was a crowd gathered around him, I got his autograph and I remember the horror on his face when I tore out the page, tore it up and spat at it and called him a cheating bastard. I'll never forget being denied victory in the cup semi. At the time I thought I might be a little bit mad, but I'm glad I did it. Cheeky prick giving out autographs like he was some sort of celebrity.
