Dont forget Lescott at left back keeping Baines out in the cold and keeping Yobo with Jags ..... Baines, Lescott, Jags & Nev were our best back four for a long long time and only really got a chance tks to Yobo going to the ANC.
Its not a new thing, for example he constantly played Richard Wright despite his obvious inability to perform anywhere near the standard required.
To be fair, he has got more right than wrong and improved our standing from the dark days but if he is to succeed then he needs to play players to their strengths in their natural positions even if they are reserves (after all that's what reserves are for, kids or not). I never want to see Hibbo at LB again

His liking to buying utility players may well be down to his spending limitations but it is a policy that will only get you so far. Hence I think we will never sink too low or rise to winning a trophy (happy to be proved wrong here).
