Never so much have I agreed with a web as this, it highly enlightening. I written off the docks and waterfront development as I viewed that few could influence decisions made by the planners, who so often are out of phase with the city and people taking the fast-buck way out.
The points here are very valid. Central government saved the Albert Dock. It's a pity. A few hundred more people with foresight could have intervened in the plans to wreak this historic area. When the city planners are left alone with no opposition things fall apart. Things might have been so much better for the city, if the Internet was around 40 years ago.
