Certainly the most psychologically compelling of the night's fights.
If Helfer hadn't been a former model, I doubt we'd have seen the walk...but given Candi's intense pressure (physically and mentally) on Trish, something had to give. The walk is deeply ingrained in the DNA of models...when pushed to extremes, it's more a reaction than a calculated move.
I'd say we'd have to go back to Alana De La Garza to find another opponent able to worm her way into Tricia's soul like this. Maybe Angie Harmon, although I think Helfer was always confident she'd bring Harmon to heel. With Alana though, the fighters were contemporaries - it was more a straight up competition between peers...Swanepoel's youth gives her an extra dagger to play with; an extra set of buttons to push.
It would be interesting to get De La Garza's reaction to Swanepoel/Helfer. Would she be cheering for Swanny to humble her old nemesis? Would she feel proprietary vis-a-vis Trish, perhaps threatened by the idea that Swanepoel/Helfer is becoming more intense than De La Garza/Helfer was? Would she pull for Trish, thinking that if Candace won, it might diminish Alana's own struggles with Helfer? Or might Alana want to claim Candace for herself, resenting Tricia yet again for hogging a visually splendid opponent? Add to the fact that the rivalry is boosting Helfer again, while Alana's watching from the crowd, and you've got one very conflicted brunette.
