Posted by Liliana on 12/19/2005, 1:19 pm The problem is that I made a mistake when filling out the license (and of course there wasn't another license available to fix) where i was supposed to stamp it, it said first: Name and title of person performing ceremony. I wrote my name and title -Notary public- it wasn't until after that that I read it said or Notary Stamp. I freaked, did not say a word, and stamped it over/toward left side of what I wrote.

Hello everyone. I have a question. I am a notary and last friday did a wedding ceremony for a friend of a friend. She lives out of the country and the boyfriend in Oklahoma. They were both here and with the FL license I agreed to notarize/perform the wedding ceremony.
Then re-reading the instructions, it said do not place stamp over any writing. Ok, I figure now, yes you are right, I am really dumb.
I gave the license back and they said they would record it at the court. My concern is, what will happen now, will it get rejected? do they need to get another one? I don't mind doing it again but the boyfriend already went back to Oklahoma...
oh boy, I have not been able to sleep for two days thinking how I screwed this one up and if it will carry a lot of problems to the couple which I wish it wouldn't.
Yes, it was my first wedding.... (sighs)
Please help me put my mind at ease...or at least know what will happen...
tia
