In the future if a bride or groom say they want to send the license back themselves, tell them by law you have to do it.
I had one couple tell me they wanted to do it themselves a few months ago, I told them I had to do it. Turns out for some reason they wanted to wait 30 days before recording the marriage. I let them know that I had to do it, and it had to be done within 10 days.
