Ken, when first starting out as a signing agent, the best thing to do is make a list of the areas you cover. Then check the mileage.
Set a base fee of $50, and only go 20 miles out for that fee. 20 miles out is a 40 mile RT, and figure out $1.25 a mile will give you $50 for a 40 mile RT.
So, go the 40 mile RT for $50 and figure out $1.25 for the extra miles rounding up to the nearest $5.
Then when you have gained experience (I waited a year) increase your base fee to $65, still going the 40 mile RT for that $65 and adding $1.25 for each additional mile rounding up to the nearest $5.
Add extra for edocs.
