What are the notary's obligations when acting as signing agent and where witnesses are concerned? Must we ID the witness? If so, where do we record that? May the witness be related as long as they are not on the deed? What is the minimum age of a witness? If the document does not specify the witness both sign and print their name, must we require them to sign and print or only sign? If the signature is then illegible, how do we know that anyone at all really witnessed the document?
