have you tried the train museum in fortuna. the woman who works there is knowledgeable about the area and could possibly lead you in the right direction.
: Hello,
:
: Recently I found a metal plate engraved by
: the Westinghouse Air Brake Company dating
: back to 1869 in the Eel River (Scotia
: Bluffs) right below the Northwestern Pacific
: Railroad track, and I wanted to know if
: anyone had any information as to how I could
: go about finding out how much it was worth,
: or who I would take it to to get an
: appraisal? Does anyone know of any railroad
: historians in the area? Thank you immensely
: for your interest and help.
