Humboldt County’s biggest brew fest is back and bigger than ever. This year’s eighth annual Hops in Humboldt features over 35 of the best breweries from across the country. For one price you can try unlimited samples of hundreds of different micro-brews, get a commemorative glass to keep, listen to 3 bands as they rock the stage throughout the day, and cruise different art and craft vendors selling everything from Humboldt clothes to local hand blown glassware.
In order to accommodate the growing popularity of this event it will be held again the Bartow Field at Rohner Park, again that is the same location as last year. This location allows for thousands more tickets to be sold to beer lovers. Hops features a 6000 square foot tented beer area to keep you cool with free sun screen and bottled water. If you’re not into shade then bring a blanket and set up in the sun on the grass while enjoying the live music and brews.
Live music to enjoy throughout the day by Lowfill , Woven Roots and Headshine. Along with beer and music, there will be 8 different food choices available to satisfy your appetite including homemade tamales, local grass fed tri-tip sandwiches, spicy sausages and more. Be sure to taste the food and beer in between music sets!
For a little more fun try your luck at the Hops Games. For just pocket change you can test your skill at a variety of games where you win cool schwag like beer beads, Hops in Humboldt T-Shirts, Hops Posters and beer mug hats.
If you’re not into games then check out the Hops Awards. While tasting the suds in the sun you can text a vote for your favorite brewery for a chance to win ‘Tasters Choice’ award, but note standard texting charges will apply per your carrier. We are calling this tasters choice contest Hop in Humboldt Idol and if you don’t have a phone, visit the Verizon booth and use one of theirs for FREE! Your favorite breweries will be competing for unique one-of-a-kind beer awards made by a local artist.
