To whom it may concern,
I hope someone will be willing to help me. I am a girl who was born in Fortuna on Dec 18 1969 and then given up for adoption immediately after. I was born in Redwood Memorial hospital. I am very interested in finding my birth parents. I know nothing about them except that my father was in the Navy and my nationalities are Portugese, Indian, Welsh, German. Many friends have told me that back in 1969 Fortuna was a very small town and even today its size is small in comparision to most towns and very close knit which might make it easier to have someone remember a pregnant woman who never kept her baby in 1969 or a woman dating a Navy guy. 1969 was a year that was still not accepting of unmarried pregnant ladies . Also I am often told my portugese side is very prominent. Many portugese people have pointed this out. I have brown hair, brown eyes, and freckles everywhere. I am only 4 feet 11 inches tall. All this I hope will be a benefit in an otherwise difficult pursuit . Could anyone help get the word out. Please. I am excited to maybe hug a parent or two and maybe even a brother or sister. And my children would love to know their grandparents. 13 girl, 9 boy & a 5 girl. I don't know where to begin . I thought the town would be a great start.
