Great racing at the Texas State Championship last weekend at Northstar in Denton. Congratulations to David Purifoy for winning the hotly contested AA/FA trophy driving Herb Whisenant's "Thrill Factor" fuel altered. He made it through a tough field that included Terry Anglin, Wood & Poloson (Nick also drove Floyd Head's Top Fuel FED) and Donny McSwain. Ol' Donny made one of the most talked about runs of the day. He went 4.0 and crossed the finish line right in the middle of the race track. Sideways!
Always a pleasure to see the OFAA cars run. At the TSC, they really helped show the youngsters what old time fuel drag racing in short wheelbase altereds was all about it. The crowd loved it. The Texas Timing Association really appreciates y'all coming out and supporting our efforts to re-establish the Texas State Championships as the premier race of the year in Texas. Thanks a lot.
