Just thought id let everyone know i am facing a tough road ahead on my ankle wound. Been fighting a staph infection now about a month on my left ankle.
years ago (back in 1986) i broke the small outer bone and had a plate installed. That same plate had caused a couple 'bumps" above and below where the plate was. I have since then got a staph infection above and below the same places where the bumps were.
Been on powerful antibiotics for 25 days now and it wasnt really healing things.
Wensday AM i had those screws and plate removed as the Ortho DR thought the 'hardware" was keeping things infected. Was outpaitent surgery so was home same day with minimul pains.
Today was the first day of 'wound care" and i saw the 'cavern" where all the derad tissue was removed from....well needless to say they saw the BONE, not good but not horrible eitehr.
SO wound care sent me hoem with instructions to change the dressing(soaked guaze in saline) and financial hardship forms(so far NOW i have to apply for medicaid to be denied or approved) to even FILL OUT said financial hardship forms, yeeshhhhhhhh.
SO also they said 'hyperbolic" chamber and also a wound vac to help speed the healing up... i hate enclosed spaces and i freaked out the last MRI as i HATE to be in a closed space!
YEs more fun for me...Wesly Darter said "i blew a rod" well a more like' blew the rods and windowed the block" .... not really any pains in the ankle, i can walk normally so thats 2 great things, still it is of a serious nature.
WARM weather up in Kansas and it started sprinkling,, to me a very GOOD SIGN on a Friday the 13th. HAHA i laff at it break mirrors and walk under ladders too, lol
Hope all my FAMILY is doing GREAT! Miss yall and i HEAR TELL some NEW NITRO plaers a happening..... what fun!
All for now and a WHOO HOO
