Today is the first day of NPWT OR NEgative Pressure Wound Therapy, Basically a wound vac, helps speed tissue granulation and keep the 'excess 'stuff' out. I also learned today the 'hyperbolic' chamber was ordered by the DR. Its like a plastic chamber thats pure O2 to also help infuse the tissues with extra oxygen. Takes 2 hours each time and its not a cheap thing to have to do. I do not like enclosed or small spaces so ill have to see IF i can tolerate it and not 'freak out' like i did for my back MRI...
Was told 40 'visits'to the chamber.. we will seee. also as the wound closes my Ortho DR said a skin graft will be needed down the road, thats no problem as i have had 2 on my ram. Just more time with the wound vac is all...
This year was NOT so far what i was hoping for,co9uld be worse they could be thinkin remove the foot.. BUt not thinkin so as i LOVE that foot we been around 55 years now....
day by day, the wound vac dressing gets changed 3 times a week, so Monday wensday and friday on that.. so i HOPE its tuesday Thursday for the chamber we sill seeeeeeee...
