Welcomes Lone Star Forklift as Presenting Sponsor
The 2016 season for the Outlaw Fuel Altered Association will go down as a historic one for the fans and participants of the nationally recognized series. This year will mark the 20th anniversary of the group which made it's debut in 1996 at Texas Raceway and included several members of the then extinct All American Funny Car Circuit which was a big draw in the late 80s and early 90s across the southwest. President Bobby Marriott, a veteran of the sport with experience in both Pro Stock and Top Alcohol Funny Car, has taken the series through an incredible twenty year journey that started out with a meeting of intrigued racers at a small Mexican food restaurant in North Texas and has now become the world's largest and most successful points circuit for fuel altered racing.
Through the years the OFAA series has continued to develop with the times and grow in participation. Drivers and teams like former NHRA Division 4 Alcohol Funny Car star Jimmy Jones' "Texas Tremor, Larry & Mary Reep's "Grim Reeper", Bobby & Nancy Marriott's "Shockwave" and Donnie Massey's "Showtime" are just a few of the over twenty members who make this series what is has become today. The competition level is second to none, especially in recent years, with points championships coming down to the final race of the season year after year. Performance has followed suit, in a series where a 4.20 1/8th mile elapsed time was good for the number one qualifying position back in the early 2000s, the OFAA now has over 20 members who have eclipsed the three second 1/8th mile barrier and earned a spot in their prestigious "3 Second Club".
With eight races spanning four states including Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri and Louisiana, the OFAA plans to continue their traditional approach to this memorable season with more big burnouts, header flames past the rear wing and unpredictable fuel altered action that can be seen nowhere else in the region. Also new for the 20th anniversary outing, a new presenting sponsor has stepped up to fund the points payout at the end of the season.
Lone Star Forklift is the largest volume Hyundai forklift dealer in the USA and Texas' solution for forklift and equipment sales, service, parts and rentals.
