After being told my colonoscopy was a success and that I was immensely healthy I began to go septic due to a punctured colon. This resulted in
a 8 week colostomy and subsequent 8 hours of surgery to re-attach my colon. I have been out of work and do not qualify for unemployment or workers comp. Everyone says the disclaimer that we all sign prior to the procedure precludes any compensation from the doctor. Not to mention that since the 1st surgery was emergency surgery and they picked a surgeon who wasn't on my health plan. Cost: several thousand dollars out of pocket.
Anyone have any advice or similar experience?
Thanks for your time!
