Everything I have read indicates that a person MUST have someone come with them to be with them during the colonoscopy (at least during the recovery period) and to take them home afterward. I have absolutely no one to accompany me. I live in a rural area where there is no public transportation. It is an hour and a half drive on an interstate highway (65 m.p.h.) to the clinic where my doctor practices. I don't think I would want to do this without anesthetics of some sort. Does anyone know of an alternative to having someone accompany you?
