Posted by shar on 4/19/2005, 10:02 am How do you all - folks who've had a colonoscopy and folks considering it - feel about how this procedure is depicted/treated in the media. Newspaper and magazine, TV news and health shows, etc. What about those new cancer society ads where people are standing in line in their hospital gowns, waiting for a colonoscopy, all of them happy as high school quarterbacks before the big game. And the geezer who says "Bring it on, doc!" Is this likely to make hesitant people come on down, if they think they may have to stand in the hallway with their butts hanging out, possibly in front of people they know from the community? Does anyone feel there is too much - or too little - butt and toilet humor attached to media coverage of this procedure?

This is sort of a continuation of a discussion going on further on down the page, but I think it's worth a separate discussion.
