I have my first colonoscopy scheduled in about a month's time. I have similar anxieties to those already expressed by many on this forum. My biggest concern is with the comfort (or discomfort)level of having the tube inserted through the rectum (sorry to be so blunt). I have had barium enemas and did not find that part of the procedure pain free.
