But I still find it hard to believe that a doctor wants to do any sort of procedure on a tense, complaining patient. Why wouldn't you just up the meds and get 'em under. This makes no sense to me - I wish someone, like a nurse at an endoscopy center who has seen a lot of these procedures, could give us an honest assessment of what really happens. Good luck - and scream to high heavens if you can feel anything!

I think people have individual responses to anesthetics - some people are hard to put under, and some - like me, I think - are out like a light. But you would think the medical people would understand that basic fact, and would asking, at several points during the procedure if the patient would like more medication.
