I had a stereotactic breast biopsy last fall. Painful from start to finish...from being really compressed at beginning, them having to take the pad off the table so I am on metal( all the info says I should be comfortable on a padded table)in order to get enough breast through hole in table, to getting jolts of pain when tech would bump table because rib bone is resting on edge of metal hole, to having the lidocaine where I said it really hurt twice...second time was worse than the first. When I saw the surgeon on followup for wound check a week later, he acted surprised....but got quiet and seemed to choose his words. Tried to explain how that could happen. I got the clinic notes ...basically they are a summary of what happened and that is what goes to insurance and what other doctors have as info on procedure. It stated that I had more pain than he expected. The procedure is touted as painless in brochures and most internet sites.
He did my colonoscopy....he said that he wouldn't start until I was really drowsy or asleep. I don't remember much from procedure I had Versed and Demerol.
