Surprisingly, I've gotten the most humane and caring treatment from LPNs, techs, and PAs. Also, I don't know about you, but most hair dressers I've had are pretty good therapists as well! And auto techs (they're not mechanics anymore since your car as much computer power under its hood as you have on your desk workstation) usually take a great deal of care when they work on your vehicle--and most of them are pretty good listeners when you try to describe the odd noises your car makes--my auto tech is a far better listener than the last 3 docs I had. I think that today's medical training facilities are heavy on testing and machine diagnostics and very light on the human and caring part of healing.

I'm sorry that you have a family member that is so ill, Shar. I'm sure it is very hard for the person with the cancer and for the rest of the family.
