A co worker had his first colonoscopy on Tuesday, and they removed a few (thankfully non-cancerous) polyps. He is in training for a marathon and resusmed his normal 10k run on Thursday. By that evening, he was bleeding rather heavily and had to spend the night in the hospital, going through the purge all over again while they prepared to go in and cauterize whatever had sprung a leak. Luckily, he stopped bleeding just before the cauterization (and the transfusions they were going to start). He was back at work on Monday, a little tired, but fine.
