Posted by Clem I just had bunion surgery, and my experiences with flex sig and colonoscopy drove me to ask A LOT of questions about sedation and anesthesia--more than any of those guys wanted to hear, but hey, I'd been introduced to issues of "pain-free" colonoscopies on this site, and wanted no surprises. It was worth it. My mantra regarding doctors, of any kind, and procedures, of any kind: ask, ask, ask. Talk to some friends that have had it (the procedure), then ask more questions. Don't stop until you're happy/satisfied, or don't have the procedure. Unfortunately, there's a first time for all of us and for any procedure, and we have to learn what to ask.

Good grief, no sedation? I've heard that is the protocol in the UK, but I thought we were more civilized here. That's really too bad.
