I was told that I had a "difficult" colon, refering to scope having a hard time making the turns. As far as pain, I found it a little more uncomfortable than my sigmoid. I elected to not eat for 2 1/2 days prior to procedure. That and that damn gallon of crud you have to drink took what was left of my energy. Procedure most definitely takes it's toll on your body. As far as actual pain at time of procedure, I will still say that pain was not really the word. Just a good deal of discomfort. I know actual pain. I've been run over, stabbed, shot in the ass with a pellet rifle and had my nose broken in 4 places at once in a gang fight in New York when I was 16. Had it rebuilt when 21. They rebuild noses by first smashing your nose with a mallet (at least, that's how mine was done in 1970. You have to be awake so you don't bleed too much. (Of course, I was straaped down during all this so I couldn't punch out the Doc). After all that, A colonoscopy was not that bad. Probably, though, the best way for the masses would be to get sedated. Wishing you all grade A, #1 colons. This will be my last post here.
