I don't know if this board is still alive as the site has changed the forums. You and all patients should know that sedation (sedatives) does not control pain. If your Dr. gave you additional sedative (Versed) during the procedure it was to suppress your overt response to pain, not for pain relief. The opiate (Demerol, etc. which is not always given) provides pain relief, not the sedative. Your Dr. was expecting that you would not remember the experience, not trying to relieve the pain of the exam!
