Posted by George Johnson The first tournament of the year is the Kickoff Classic. 2002 was the sixth year of this tourney and 75 teams in 5 divisions were in attendance. The second tournament is the Las Vegas Open. This tournament again has 5 divisions, but has a 'wood' twist. Aluminum bats are used in the 18+ division and one of the divisions in 28+. Wood bats are used in three divisions 28+, 38+, 48+. The third tournament is the"Passport to Phoenix". This tournament has a prize package that will include credits toward a teams entry into the World Series in Oct/Nov. 2002 will be the First Annual of this tournament. The National Office hosts three tournaments in Las Vegas. All tournaments are MABL/MSBL sanctioned tourneys and encourage all players be affiliated with the MABL/MSBL. Some exceptions are made to 'first time attendees' to participate in the tourney in an effort to gain new members by giving them a great tournament experience.
62 teams are scheduled for the 2002 event.
