I would like to write you guys and let you know that on opening day this year my little brother pitched a PERFECT GAME! I play in the Triad MSBL out of Greensboro, NC for the Greensboro Athletics (last season's league champions). Anyway, the reason I am writing is because I don't think a feat like this should go unrecognized. Our league website is coincidentally run by one of the players that is on the team we played. Needless to say it's not up on the league website. Either way I feel it's the single greatest thing anyone can do in any sport and I wanted to let someone know about it. In addition to pitching the perfect game he also was a HR away from hitting for the cycle. His triple short hopped the fence at 390 and he actually held up on two of his other hits because we were up by 15+ runs. He's not one to brag so I wanted to do the bragging for him. I'm a couple months shy of my 30th birthday and I have never seen a performance, in person, like the one I saw on opening day. His name is Sean Shanahan and his stats are up on our team website at Greensboro Athletics. He’s 25 years old and played at Christopher Newport University (and was on the team that went to the Division III College World Series championship in 2003 and was 3rd in the NCAA in 2002). He had 10 K's and faced the 8 inning minimum of 24 batters (they were home team). Please put this in your next HardBall magazine or at least up on your website. Perfect games are something you only see once in a lifetime and to be a part of it was amazing! If you need pictures or anything or would like to write up a story you can contact me at 336-681-5569 or by email at kshanahan@triad.rr.com. Thank you for recognizing this great achievement!
Thanks,
Kevin Shanahan
