Posted by Troy Barber You know what I would love to see in the next issue of Hardball? How about an article written by a sports doctor talking about the long-term health effects of playing with a bum arm. Three years ago I likely tore (or finished tearing) my Tommy John / ulnar collateral ligament, but after changing my motion somewhat I've been able to pitch with discomfort (and Advil...and Icy Hot...) ever since. Well, my range of motion is diminishing, but the love of the game keeps me pitching. An article spelling out how I'm hurting myself may inspire me to do something differently (I can't afford to pay a doctor to tell me the same in person). Plus, it may be helpful for other ballplayers as well, because I've met several who can't straighten out their throwing arms, either. Yours, Troy Barber
