I agree that the grammatical errors were important. I think these errors add something to the letters. I think that it was good for the African Americans to feel that they had somebody to turn to in their time of need. President Roosevelt never endorsed the anit-lynching legislation but the African Americans still felt as though they could ask him for help and that he would give them the help they needed.
