The letters were pure proof that FDR was not doing an adequate job of supplying all men and women with equal or even a sufficient amount of primary living needs. The manner in which the letters are written were very polite pleas of help. The letters are direct primary sources of what at the time was exactly happening. Unequal rights and de-humanziation are shown through the letters. For example one letter stated that the African Americans were being treated like dogs, and recieved much less than the white families. I wonder what the President felt and thought after reading these letters, that is if he even read them.
