Why was the Fair Labor Standards Act, which was introduced to establish a national minimum wage (Foner 811)not imposed on business owners in the South. It is evident in the article "Please Help Us Mr. President" that many people were living way under their living means. Its goal was to create economic security, but it seems the fine print was economic security for the wealthy.
