These letters just comes to show that freedom still only apllied to the whites. During this time in history there was so much pain and sruggle just to make it through. Everyone depended on someone for everyday supplies that was almost impossible to get. The blacks were always the last in line for everything like they were not human or deserve anything. So yes I do agree that these letters were sad and that blacks might not ever experience "freedom" in America.
