These letters, I have to agree Kathryn, showed that we really haven't done much since then. Sure as the generation past by we see the gap between back and white; women and men get smaller, but will it ever be gone, probably not. But one of the most important thing to take is the symbolism from these letters. The letters clearly diplayed emotion, but at the same time showed the ignorace of the people and of the timee. Whether it was the simple grammar mistakes or using words like Darkies.
