To continue the discussion from class, I would agree that America always seems to be in a state of readyness for war. I feel that even though many don't want to admit it, we will always carry in the back of our mind the possibilty that our lives will be affected by war. This possibility is always being reinforced by the constant commercials to join the Army, Military, or National Guard. These examples of propaganda toss subliminal messages into the minds of American citizens that the treat of war or a terrorist attack could be just around the corner. Many want to deny that these messages have any effect on their fear of an imminent attack, but truly, American citizens will always feel the need to be ready for it.
