I really liked what Martin Luther King, Jr. said about the soldiers fighting in the Vietnam War. He said that the U.S. was taking young men from segregated territories and put them in a war that their country was fighting for. The United States government did not believe in these men being citizens, but they were sending them to war none the less. These same men were unable to sit a bus or go to the same school as the men they were fighting along side out in the field. I found it very disturbing, but it was something you don't typically hear about in a normal history class.
