Towards the end of MLK's speech, he said, "Our only hope today lies in our ability to recapture the revolutionary spirit and go out into a sometimes hostile world declaring eternal hostility to poverty, racism, and militarism". I feel that this statement is still true in today's society. I think that this statement can be applied still, to America today. If one is trying to get something accomplished, you must get back into the revolutionary spirit and realize what you are facing, but what stands out to me the most in that statement is that he still used the word racism although he was trying to eliminate it from society. It almost seems as if there will never be a snowball chance in hell for racism to ever be erased from our society.
