I agree with Kathryn. I think that drafting is not the answer to our problems. In fact, I believe it makes things worse. When a draft is in effect, people get scared and try to avoid it as much as possible. It seperates our country. People that try to avoid being drafted are viewed as "unpatriotic" by people that support the war. Also, many of the people that are drafted are not physically or psychologically able to participate in a war. I, for example, would never be able to kill anyone, whether they were "good" or "bad." I wouldn't be able to live with myself. I would probably freeze up in a battle and get shot. What good would I be to the war effort? Why should I risk my life needlessly?
