They propose a draft that would cut across all classes, not draw more from the middle and bottom of the pool, because of the idea that we need to be careful about foreign engagements. When you exclude the very classes that are more likely to be in political office from service in the wars, it is easier to overlook the potential loss of life. That's their theory. What do you think abou that?
