I would have to agree. I think a lot of it is just looking for a scapegoat. I find it hard to believe there was absolutely no work anywhere. Victor Gonzales from the article said "But you don't have the opportunity to prove to anyone what you can do" and I would have to strongly disagree with that. I think if you're that skilled and really want to prove what you can do, work free for a day or something. I don't think anyone would turn down a free day of labor, and if you're that skilled then the boss will see that. Instead they just move around blaming others for why they can't get a job. I know it's kind of harsh, but some people just need to take responsibility for themselves rather than using someone else as a scapegoat like you pointed out.
