Kid Safe horse

I am looking for a quiet horse, looks/registration does not matter. Trail /road safe. can provide exceptional home with references. Reasonable price or trades. I have an 8 year old son, just getting started in horses now, we just had our 30 year old POA put to sleep 3 weeks ago, so now we don't have a horse for him to go with us. Michigan and surrounding areas preferred.
