Posted by Pete What happened to the 1st Hussar Regiment? I notice the site is still active but there is no longer a link on the main site here. I'm very interested in purchasing the 1st Hussar Regiment kit (non elite) in order to partcipate at their events. I have very little experience with horses, but I'm willing to invest the time (and money) to learn as I have a great interest in Napoleonic calvery (specifically the Hussars and Chasseurs a Cheval). Anyways, if anyone has any information relating to the status of the 1st Hussars, or general advice for a non-rider with a desire to partcipate at events with calvary, please do feel free, it would be very much appreciated. As I understand it, some units of Chasseur au Cheval and Hussars sometimes fought dismounted, would there be any room for this protrayal for a non-rider until I have some hours under my belt on the saddle? Borodino and its aftermath comes to mind...
