The 7e hussards and the 7 bis hussards at the time of the Haitian control by France was 1801=1803 I believe the 7e hussards were in Europe at the time and the 7bis were from1798-1801 in Eygpt in 1803 i believe the 7 bis were turned into the 28th dragons. I do not know of any hussard regiments thet were in Haiti, could be wrong so it makes the letter interesting unless there was an aide de camp? from either the 7e or 7 bis however I know of no one. It would be interesting research. I'd like to know if someone can shed light on this
